Stopped at Myrtle St.

Description:  On the way back north, the 596 was leading and the train stopped just north of the Myrtle Street crossing so 579 could spot a covered hopper on the industry track. This may have been the first time the spur has been used since the SGLR rejuvenated it!

Description:  In order to activate the crossing gates, the crew has to basically stop at the crossing to run over the detector. Once the gates started the engineer kicked 579 up a couple notches and gave us a little smoke show. From here they would couple back to the rest of the train and head north
